Comeback Jam

Well, it's been what? seven months since I last (dis)graced this blog with a post. I've been off in a whirlwind of full-time work and net-shame. Work is still pumping but I have gotten over the initial embarrassment of being discovered by my friends and being destroyed by a site reviewer (though not for this blog).

So where are we? What have I missed? Heaps.
I'll kick off with a new release which hit the shelves yesterday, though it was leaked onto the net well before that. That collection of beasts are back with a slightly less noisy, more vocal-centred album,
Strawberry Jam, given its title because, according to Avey, "The substance and the record are kinda similar - real futuristic but also very organic. And the way light goes through jam is just real sonic-lookin'." You can check out that interview between BBC and the Collective here.

This album is the first the group has released since signing with
Domino Records. Their official site is still in the making but they have a MySpace page and then there's the Collected Animals message board or if you're really lucky and you're currently in the UK, the band is scheduled to perform at the London Astoria, Thursday 1st November.
